Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

This policy explains how we handle the personal data you send us through this site, under Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 on the Protection of the Individual with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and its regulation (Decree No. 37554-JP).

1. Who is responsible

2. The database exists

What you send us is stored in a database of prospective-buyer enquiries, managed by the company named above. That database is not intended for distribution, dissemination or commercialisation, so it is not subject to registration with the Costa Rican data protection authority (PRODHAB) under article 21 of Law No. 8968. We never sell, rent or trade your data.

3. What we collect, and what is required

DataRequired?Why
NameYesSo we can address you properly
Email or WhatsApp numberYesSo we can reply
Land size you are looking forNoTo suggest the right lot
Free-text messageNoTo understand your enquiry
WhatsApp group checkboxNoTo add you to the group if you ask

What happens if you don't provide the data: without your name and a contact method we cannot reply, because we would have no one and nowhere to write to. The other fields are optional and leaving them blank makes no difference to your enquiry or to how you are treated.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive data (health, ethnic origin, religious or political beliefs, sexual life or other categories under article 9 of Law No. 8968). Please do not include any in the message field. This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

4. What we use it for, and our legal basis

We do not use your data for any other purpose, and we make no automated decisions about you. The legal basis is your express consent, given by ticking the box on the form, under article 5 of Law No. 8968. You may withdraw it at any time, without retroactive effect, by writing to nedevelopmentscr@gmail.com.

5. Who receives your data

Inside our organisation, only the company's managers read these enquiries. In addition, the following providers are involved:

ProviderRoleWhere
Web3FormsReceives the form submission and forwards it to us by emailOutside Costa Rica (United States)

If you decide to buy, your data will additionally be shared with the notary who executes the deed and with the SUGEF-registered escrow agent, to the extent necessary for the transaction and as required by law (Law No. 7786 on money laundering).

If you join the community WhatsApp group, the other members of the group will see your phone number. You can leave the group, or ask us to remove you, at any time.

6. Transfers outside Costa Rica

As set out above, the providers we use are located outside Costa Rica, mainly in the United States. This means your data leaves Costa Rican territory. Under article 14 of Law No. 8968, this transfer takes place only with your express authorisation, which you give by ticking the consent box before sending the form. If you would rather not authorise it, you can contact us directly by phone at +506 8344-3285 or by email instead of using the form.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry for as long as you have an active interest, and for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If the enquiry leads to a purchase, we keep the documentation for the periods required by tax and anti-money-laundering law.

8. Security

The site is served entirely over HTTPS and the form is transmitted encrypted. We apply security headers on the server and protect mailbox access with passwords and two-step verification. No system is perfect, but we take measures that are reasonable and proportionate to the risk, in line with article 10 of Law No. 8968 and article 199 of the Regulation to Law No. 7472.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

To exercise them, write to nedevelopmentscr@gmail.com giving your name and the contact method you used. We will respond within five business days of receiving your request. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied, you may go to:

11. Cookies and third-party services

This site sets no cookies of its own, uses no web analytics or advertising pixels, and does not track you across sites.

The maps in the "The place" section are provided by Google Maps. The overview map is an interactive Google map that loads together with that part of the page, and the route maps are requested when you tap one of the places in the list. In both cases Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy. The "Open in Google Maps" link only contacts Google when you follow it.

WhatsApp links open the WhatsApp app or website, subject to Meta's policies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps technical access logs, including IP address, for security and service operation.

12. Visitors from other countries

We are a Costa Rican company and we process data under Costa Rican law. If you contact us from another country, your data will be handled as described in this policy and you can exercise the rights in section 9 through the same channel, wherever you live.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and publish the new version at this same address. Substantial changes affecting purposes you have already consented to will be communicated to you and, where appropriate, fresh consent will be requested.
